Tucson Area Reading Council Teachers As Readers meet at Howell Elementary School Library.  Our current focus is LITERARY PATHWAYS: SELECTING BOOKS TO SUPPORT NEW READERS, by Barbara Peterson.  (Spring 2002)

Teachers network, share ideas, experience and stories at Teachers As Readers study groups.  TARC TAR members: Shirley Duffy,  Sue Stensel, Phylis Carnahan and Kathy Naylor .

We share children's literature as part of each meeting.  Gudrun Godare reads  CLICK CLACK MOO  COWS THAT TYPE.  TARC TAR members Gayle Taylor and Abby Gatenley listen in.

Shirley Duffy shares Mark Teague books and tells us that she knew young Mark Teague... 

Abby Gatenley shares a "chapter book," TASHI.

Phylis Carnahan tells us about ENEMY PIE.

Author Barbara Peterson shares some insight and enriches our conversation.

Marge Sellinger presents a classic favorite, BLUEBERRIES FOR SAL.

Laura Goodman reminds us of SING A SONG OF POPCORN,  a delightful collection of poetry.

Marge Sellinger and Abby Gatenley enthusiastically read from YOU READ TO ME, I'LL READ TO YOU.  This text invites students to take turns reading, and also read together as a team.
