Marianne Wallace, illustrator/author/biologist, shares some details about her field guides for children, parents and teachers. Marianne has two more titles in the works, AMERICA'S SEASHORES and AMERICA'S WETLANDS.

Journals in hand, TARC workshop participants record details which help us learn how to see-- how to more accurately draw what we observe. Marianne talks with us about patterns we see in nature, for example, if we look closely, we see that the prickly pear cactus has "rows" of spines.
Several deer were on hand to greet TARC members as we approached Cactus Picnic Area. Ocotillo blossoms appear to be a very tasty snack.
